2023 Update: A link to the Starved Rock County Visitor’s Bureau has been added at the end of this post. Plan your trip today!!

Veteran’s Day November 8, 2020 was a warm autumn day. Perfect for a hike with Charlie and Lillie! So, we loaded up our gear for hiking and photography. We drove out to Starved Rock. This was our second visit. We went the week prior on November 1. We enjoyed our visit and the area has so much to explore!

On our way to Starved Rock we passed through Norway, IL. Patty thought this was neat as her paternal grandma immigrated to the U.S. from Norway with her parents as a little girl. We came across this dedication to the 80’s Agricultural Crash.

Parlee vous France? Wee wee. The guide states that the French were the first immigrants in Illinois Country.
