The day began beautifully in Cancun as we boarded the ferry to Isla Mujeres. The ferry is an affordable comfortable way to travel to the island. The Cancun waters are choppy and harsh during peak periods. When Enrique visited prior he went on a speedboat and felt the discomfort of the water. So, later when Patty went to visit she chose the ferry option. Drinks were included with both transportation options.

Hello palm trees!!

Our family bought an excursion package for the island that included a visit with the dolphins, kayaking, snorkeling, food, and drinks.

Dolphin entry point

We visited the dolphins first. The guide told us much about dolphins. Then, introduced us to an individual dolphin. We were lucky to meet a mature female dolphin. She was truly amazing to meet up close in person. We ate and drank after meeting the dolphins. We asked for the website to review and order photos later while at home. This can be done for those staying at a hotel as well.

Surf’s up – sun sleeves are amazing for Cancún sun in July!! SPF50+

Next, we were taken to another area for the kayaking, snorkeling, and zip lining. This time we did not select the zip line option.

Gorgeous shades of blue from ocean to sky!!

We put on our life jackets and went into the ocean for snorkeling. While my nephew and his wife were fine in the water, I had some issues. As the water was roughly pushing me back into the metal stairs during the snorkeling, I received an injury to my leg. So, my husband’s sister and I decided to opt out of the ocean for the more relaxing infinity pool. Although we all had life vests on, the safety ropes were quite slick and hard to grasp.

This is something to consider for those who may not be strong swimmers. Enrique previously participated in snorkeling out in the ocean off the speedboat. His experience was even more rough in open water with no ropes at all. He is a strong swimmer. Again just a consideration to think about for a more enjoyable visit. Snorkeling in these waters is not for light swimmers!

Now this is sea blue!

Oh yeah!! There are the speedboats! The infinity pool is right there too.

The infinity pool was a relaxing way to watch the day fade away into the beautiful blue hour. The infinity pool overlooked the ocean with a cozy waterfall backdrop. It boasted varied water levels making it child and family friendly. Thus, my husband’s sister and I could enjoy fun safe time with my great nephew.

These birds enjoy the infinity pool. Whew! The humans have left y’all. Party time is on!!

Lounge view – oh yeah, some swelling may happen due to heat and humidity. So, comfy sandals and shoes go a long way!

Now, we will let a couple random photos take over this show! Just kidding!! There is more to this all day enjoyable excursion. Isla Mujeres offers many family friendly and solo traveler activities. It truly is an all inclusive island for everyone!

Ah yes, food was mentioned earlier! We ate outdoors in a shaded area abundant with palm trees overlooking the green grass gazing into the varied hues of blue ocean water. An unexpected yet fun guest joined us during our lunch buffet. Iguanas could be seen meandering throughout the island.

One last goodbye – until next time!!
All aboard to return home to Cancún! Sounds good, doesn’t it?
Cheers Saludos a Isla Mujeres!! We had a great time.

Slug bug, no slug backs! Lol. Beetles can be found everywhere throughout Mexico. This one sports stripes and a number ready for the race!!
